Dr Olajide Adediran (Jandor) who recently  clinched the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) ticket for the 2023 governorship election in Lagos State yesterday opened his campaign office in Ikeja,Lagos.
Speaking at the event,PDP National Leader,Chief Bode George said the battle to remove the incumbent would be difficult although doable, describing it as war by other means.

Among PDP leaders who graced the occasion include its three Senatorial candidates, namely  for Lagos West and Lagos East Senatorial districts,  Otunba Segun Adewale (Aeroland) and Nicholas Akobada. And Dr Adewale Gomez  senatorial candidate for Lagos Central. Also, the Director-General for Sam Ohuabunwa campaign Organisation,Dr John Kome and many of the parties State and National Assembly candidates graced the event.

Chief George called for a united front for PDP in Lagos, saying that a house divided against itself can not work.He stated however that the battle to take over Alausa for PDP in 2023 would be his last battle for Berlin and that all PDP stalwarts should see it as such.

He described Jandor as the first Awori tribesman from Lagos to try to become governor in a state the Awori’s are the largest indigenous people, hinting that justice mandates that the indigenous Lagosians should for once allowed to rule their home state.

The Governorship Aspirant in his contribution maintained the need for the party to ensure that Lagosians are mobilized to collect the over one million uncollect voters cards still with The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),saying that elections are a process and that the party should do well in ensuring that illegible voters were allowed to register and vote.

He assured all gathered that its possible for the party to win the coming poll, but that they must all work hard to make it possible, stressing the need for all hands to be on the deck.

On the sideline of the event,DR Kome told us that from all political permutations available that the party has a chance of taking Lagos but that the chance would become more broadened if PDP can face the challenge as a united organisation.

According to him the party came out of the primaries a divided house and that if the powers that be in the party are able to unify their people across the state ,it would be difficult beating the party at the coming polls.Apparently he is suggesting that PDP will in-roads in Lagos given recent development involving the ruling party at the centre.
