Nigerians should support FG to ameliorate Climate Change Crisis-Abiola-AweAugust 8, 2022
The Director,Department of Climate Change Federal Ministry of Environment,Dr Iniobong Abiola-Awe has stressed the need for Nigerians to support government in resolving emerging crisis as a result of climate change.
She said her department is determined to achieve the 20% goal of government without international funding and 40% with international funding and support,hinting that the onus is on us to fight for a safer World.
She maintained this at the Two-Day ”Nationally Determined Contributions(NDC)youth Action on Climate Change held at Ibis Hotel Ikeja,Lagos recently.
Speaking at the event Edidiong Eyo of NDC said the group aims to use mitigation and adaptation strategies in order to resolve the crisis being caused by climate change.
She used Nigerians to embrace renewable energy,waste to wealth strategies and aviod contamination of the environment as well as plant trees in order to counteract the evils of climate change.
Even as she urged them to reach out to the NDC and the Ministry for needded support,saying that collaborative effort in needed to combat the evils of of climate change.
A participant,Mrs Okoriola Folashade said she has been an apostle of waste to wealth and re-using of waste,but pointed out that she would want Nigerian youths to be humble and tap into the areas of smart Agriculture and renewable energy in their overall interest.
