The President of Pragmatic Shareholders Association Nigeria(PSAN),Mrs Bisi Bakari has appealed to Security and Exchange Commission(SEC) to make the e-dividend registration policy an open ended policy to allow more Nigerian shareholders key into it and reap the dividend of their investment.
Mrs Bakare said this would be in the overall interest of investors in the country, saying that such a policy will make SEC policy human faced and advance the Nigerian capital.
She also called on the the Federal Government to promulgate a support policy for retail shareholders and to ensure that they are empowered to become an important back bone of the economy .
According to her,the present situation where the market overtly relies on foreign portfolio investors should be closely monitored as its not very good for the economy, saying that all should be done to ensure that the local investors are able to play credible roles in the economy
The PSAN President who was speaking recently on the occasion of PSAN’S maiden national discourse went on to call on shareholders associations in the country to join hands with SEC to support its initiatives, especially, the e-dividend mandate registration drive.
