The shareholders of Transcorp Hotels Plc have commended the management and staff of the company for achieving an impressive financial and operational performance in the financial year ended December 31, 2017 and unanimously approved the Board’s recommended of a final dividend of 12.45 kobo per share
The shareholders expressed their approval for the dividend pay out at the 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company held at Transcorp Hilton Abuja on Friday.
They praise the management of the company for its resourcefulness as demonstrated in its profitable position despite economic meltdown in the country.
Speaking at the AGM, chairman, Progressive Shareholders Association of Nigeria (PSAN), Mr Boniface Okezie , praised the management and staff of the company for the remarkable growth it recorded amidst socio- economic challenges that impacted negatively on hotel business in Nigeria.
According to him “All of these in no small measure impacted the business significantly and would have affected the profit margins considerably instead what we have is a strong performance, and a substantial dividend payout of 12.45kobo.
President, Trusted Shareholders Association (TSAN), Alhaji Muktar Muktar, in his contribution commended the company for a sterling performance,saying “In the midst of this, the hotel management under the chairmanship of Olorogun O’tega Emerhor and MD/CEO, Valentine Ozigbo, trudged on with hard work as well as numerous innovations which paid off hugely,” Mukhtar said.
